Eat out in October and help local unhomed animals

Dine to Donate is a way to help dogs and cats and struggling restaurants

All October, you can treat yourself, patronize local restaurants and help an unhomed dog or cat all at the same time through the SPCA of Texas Dine to Donate program.

The donation program gives you a chance to dine-in or take-out at participating restaurants in Ellis County and the Dallas area, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated back to the SPCA of Texas.

“Patrons can enjoy delicious food while helping animals in North Texas. It’s yummy, easy and a win-win for patrons, restaurant owners and, of course, the animals,” reads the SPCA of Texas memo announcing the event.

The Dallas-based SPCA of Texas acquired the beleaguered Ellis County SPCA last summer and runs it now as the Ellis County Animal Care Center. The local shelter tends to the needs of thousands of neglected and abused dogs and cats each year.

On certain dates, eating at one of the restaurants in the program’s list will result in a portion of your bill being donated to the SPCA of Texas.

The list of participating restaurants is still being compiled and so far includes:
Panda Express in Waxahachie on October 2, 202

Bubba’s BBQ and Steakhouse in Ennis on October 7, 2020

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Waxahachie on October 14, 2020

Additional restaurants in the Dallas area are also participating, and more locations will be added to the list as restaurants sign up. If you’re a restaurant owner who’d like to participate, you can contact the coordinator at Ismail Mapara: 214.461.1818.

Local restaurants and the SPCA of Texas need the support of the community now more than ever. By participating in Dine to Donate, people can enjoy delicious food, contribute to local restaurants and give back to the animals at the SPCA of Texas. All proceeds donated to the SPCA of Texas will directly go to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming thousands of animals in North Texas and beyond.
