Description

The Ellis County Museum is the definitive source for learning the history of the county and of Waxahachie. The 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization is the authority for preserving and interpreting the county's historic relics, artifacts and information.

In keeping with its mission, the museum hosts exhibits throughout the year, welcoming school groups, civic organizations and visitors from the general public to come inside and view the institutions holdings and see a glimpse of how things were in the past.

A historic site in itself, the museum is housed in an 1889 structure located in Downtown Waxahachie, across the street from the beloved and beautiful Ellis County Courthouse.
