Late tonight, Waxahachie ISD announced through social media that classes for Thursday, February 11, 2021 will be canceled.
The cancellation comes as weather forecasts for North Texas call for precipitation and sub-freezing temperatures Thursday morning which may lead to dangerous road conditions.
Thursday mornings chilly conditions will begin a weeklong spell of wintry weather, with Monday’s low forecasts at a rarely seen 4° F, which may lead to more days of school being cancelled.
Waxahachie ISD joins Midlothian ISD, Red Oak ISD, Avalon ISD, Maypearl ISD and Ennis ISD in closing Thursday.
