Five things to do in Waxahachie for the 2021 Halloween season

Once a slight chill returns in the wind late in the evening after the nights have begun to grow longer, you know it’s October in Waxahachie, and that means a month-long selection of Halloween events to choose from.

Here’s our list of the five things to do in Waxahachie for the 2021 Halloween season.

Waxahachie’s renaissance faire turned haunted theme park goes over the top for Halloween each Friday and Saturday night throughout October with five haunted houses in what it boasts is a totally immersive experience.

Among the horror attractions is:

  • Zombie Wasteland Apocalypse where visitors must make through both the walking dead and the apocalypse survivors
  • Hotel D’Feers where everything is frozen in time after a mass murder
  • Cursed – The Witches of Terra Mythica Castle for those who enjoy a side of mediaeval with their haunted house
  • Klownz, which will try its hardest to install a clown phobia is its visitors
  • Time’s Up Maze, a time-travel labyrinth filled with horrors

The park also has food and drink provisions, a New Orleans style cemetery experience, live music and games of skill for a full night of Halloween activities.

The Zombie wasteland Apocalypse at Screams Haunted Theme Park in Waxahachie, Texas is among five haunted houses at the park.

Tickets are available from the Screams website for $38.71 per person, with fast passes and group discounts too.


Trick-or-Treat on the Square

For a safe place to take your kids for traditional trick-or-treat candy panhandling, the Downtown Waxahachie merchants will host Trick-or-Treat on the Square.


Turner Pre-K Fall Festival
October 28, 2021: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Turner Pre-K Academy P.T.O. will host a fall festival with games, concessions and a pumpkin decorating contest in a sensory-friendly atmosphere.


Altus Drive-Thru Halloween
October 29, 2021: 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

For a quick drive-by sugar run, pack the kids in the car and hit Altus Emergency Center in Waxahachie during its annual Drive-Thru Halloween. Costumed Halloween personalities will pass out candy to visitors as they drive by, with no need to exit the vehicle.


Big Al-O-Ween Party at Big Al’s Down the Hatch

Big Al’s Down the Hatch in Downtown Waxahachie will host a night of Halloween entertainment featuring, of all singers, Vanilla Ice of Ice Ice Baby fame.
