Improved agility equipment, a mural and enhanced A.D.A. compliance are coming to Waxahachie’s Wags-a-Hachie Dog Park, located at 701 Howard Road, along the Waxahachie Creek Hike and Bike Trail behind the farmer’s market.
In a post made by the City of Waxahachie on social media, a list of improvements was announced, including:
- Concrete parking lot with lighting
- New fencing with heavy duty gates and mow strip
- Landscaping
- ADA sidewalk connections
- New picnic shelters
- New trash receptacles, benches, and picnic tables
- New dog agility and play equipment
- Art mural

During construction of the new amenities, the dog park will be closed, starting Friday, October 22, 2021 and remain closed for renovations and improvements until January 2022.
