Maybe you lost yours while moving, or left it behind in a breakup, or maybe you didn’t even get one in the first place, but whatever your reason for not having a piece of your high school history, if you’d like to get your hands on a copy of the Waxahachie High School yearbook, there’s a chance that one’s available that sports your youthful mug in its pages.
Available through Amazon, the copies don’t cover every year, but there are enough years available that the chances that you’ll find one that was originally printed in a year that you attended Waxahachie High School are in your favor.
There’s also a mix of binding: some are available as softcovers, others as harcovers, and still others as either. Note that they are reprints of someone’s actual W.H.S. annual and not an original.
Adding to the charm of these yearbook reprints, the original owner’s markings, graffiti and messages also appear intact, which may be either a bonus or a liability for some — think old sweethearts or a past reputation.
But with that caveat in mind, these W.H.S. annual copies offer a chance to get your hands on a piece of your history that you may have lost access to.
The years that are available span from 1953 – 1987, with several years skipped here and there, like the late ’50s and early ’60s. For 1988 to the present, though, you’re out of luck.
