Screams Halloween Park is no more, so now the people behind Scarborough Renaissance Festival invite you to wear your best family-friendly costume and experience a day of magic, mischief and Autumn wonder at Scarborough’s Hollow.

The festival is described as interactive journey through the enchanted Scarborough’s Hollow transformed by three fairy sisters, with live entertainment, a pumpkin patch, artisan shoppes, a petting zoo, a fun house and a haunted house, interactive activities for all ages, seasonal fun, and a spooky vibe throughout.
Entertainment
Attendees will be entertained by a variety of acts and performances from fairground familiars such as Cirque du Sewer and the Village cast from the Scarborough Academy of Performing Arts, along with a lineup of new performances by local musicians, a sword fighting comedy troupe, players in an interactive D. and D.-style show, and a ventriloquist.
Contest and Event Days
Before you go to Scarborough’s Hollow, take a look at the schedule of contests and events which includes a decorated beard contest for men, a witch’s hat contest, and a children’s costume contest.
Artisan Marketplace
The artisan marketplace at Scarborough’s Hollow will offer more than 30 shops filled with handmade items: crocheted creatures and apparel, hand-forged metal works and figurines, period and fantasy costuming, custom hats, fall- and Halloween-themed products, gourmet chocolates, pottery, fiber art, and other crafts.
Additional Costs
Here’s a word of advice for anyone who decides to head out to Scarborough’s Hollow: be prepared to open your wallet wide. Many events cost an additional fee, such as Morwyn’s Manor Haunted House for $12, the Masquerade of Mischief Funhouse for $12, the Hollow’s Hayride for $6, and the Brews of Hollow beer tasting event for $39. Overall with admission, parking, food, additional activity fees and shop purchases, this is about a $300 day for each family sort of activity.
Murder Mystery Dinner at the Library

Sims Library will be active after hours on Fridays throughout October to host an evening of murder mystery with a pasta dinner on the side in the lavish library lyceum.
The theme for the murder mystery dinner is mob mafia. When someone takes a permanent fall, participants will gather clues and sniff out the rat before the night is over.
Participants are encouraged to dress for the part with pinstripes, fedoras, and glamorous attire, but no weapons.
This is a rare adults-only event for the library for participants 19 years old and older. Registration begins September 26, 2025 on the library’s website.

The Benny and Boneless Storybook Adventure is a nostalgic open-air Halloween walk in Downtown Waxahachie. Inspired by a custom-illustrated story, the maze invites families to follow a young ghost boy and his loyal dog as they navigate a playful Halloween mystery.
With colorful set pieces, immersive scenes, and kid-friendly surprises around every corner, it’s a magical must-see for little ones. Each day that Benny and Boneless is open will host a different community organization, from the Sims Library’s Bookmobile to the Waxahachie Fire Department’s big red truck.
Tickets for Benny & Boneless support local causes, with a portion of ticket proceeds benefiting the Waxahachie Oddfellows Lodge #80/Rebekah’s Lodge 381 and the Waxahachie I.S.D. Theatre Department, encouraging community engagement and creative growth.
