Saturday Adoption at the Shelter
Saturday October 12, 2024
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Waxahachie Animal Services
191 Lions Park Rd, Waxahachie, TX 75165
The staff at Waxahachie Animal Services is committed to finding homes for the dogs and cats that enter their care, so they’re helping you to make a connection with your next furry companion by staying open all Saturday morning and afternoon.
Did you know that the City of Waxahachie adoption fee for adult cats ($54) and dogs ($82) includes spaying and neutering and vaccinations? That’s already a huge money-saving arrangement right there because vets charge $200-$500!
Waxahachie Animal Services doesn’t post available cats online because they’re already elbow-deep with care for the dogs and cats are difficult to photograph, so you’ll need to visit to take a look at the cats (spoiler alert: their all different but totally wonderful, and there’s always kittens as well as older, relaxed cats). But, some of the dogs are posted so you can see a few of their offerings in advance.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Saturday October 12, 2024
5:00 p.m. (movie begins at 6:00 p.m.)
Texas Theater
110 W Main St, Waxahachie, TX 75165
Admission: starting from $5.00
In this cult classic that everyone who wore only black back at high school watched religiously in the 1980s, sweethearts Brad (Barry Bostwick) and Janet (Susan Sarandon), stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry), a transvestite scientist. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker (Meat Loaf) and a creepy butler (Richard O’Brien). Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.”
Obviously, this is not a family-friendly movie because you’d have too much explaining to do on the way back home.
