Downtown Waxahachie Farmers Market open for 2022 season

The Downtown Waxahachie Farmers Market is open from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Saturday from May through October.

Visitors to the Downtown Waxahachie Farmers Market will find new vendors and several upgrades to the market facility for the 2022 season.

Now in its 20th year, the indoor farmers market located at 701 Howard Road just south of Downtown Waxahachie is open from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. every Saturday from May 7 – October 22, 2022. Of note for the new season are several first-time vendors and upgrades to the market facilities. Visitors will find a wide assortment of fresh produce, baked goods, handcrafted jewelry and local art among the more than 40 vendors who’ve signed up for the 2022 season.

“There have been a lot of improvements made to the site,” says Anita Simpson, director of downtown development and heritage preservation officer for the City of Waxahachie. “We have two handicapped spaces and we have a sidewalk that ties into the to the new sidewalk that runs along the back of the dog park that ties into the hike and bike trail and the bathrooms that are over on the trail, so it’s kind of all connected now.”

Anita says that among the new vendors for the 2022 season is a pair of young boys who will sell cotton candy and other treats through their business, Main Street Sweets. They’ll join seasoned vendors such as Tommy’s Produce, Billy’s Salsas, Gary’s Greenhouse and more in a list that includes:
