Windsync performs its contemporary music solely from memory to create a more intimate connection with audiences.

The Houston-based wind quintet will perform instrumental interpretations of music from famous musicians and bands that are all connected to Abbey Road Studios, the music studio where music legends such as the Beatles and Pink Floyd recorded their albums.

Windsync foregoes sheet music and music stands to perform their music solely from memory to create a more visually-engaging and intimate connection with their audiences. The quintet performs throughout the world and is a 2022 – 2024 Texas Touring Roster Artist grant recipient from the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Waxahachie Symphony Association President Melissa Chapman says the performance includes a “gorgeous” instrumental arrangement of The Beatles’ Here Comes the Sun in addition to instrumental adaptations of music that spans generations, from pieces by the late Edward Elgar to the the music of English rock band, Radiohead.

“WindSync is a vibrant chamber ensemble performing wind quintet masterworks, adapting beloved music to their instrumentation, and championing new works by today’s composers,” Melissa says.

Tickets are $20 for adults, and $8 for college students. Attendees under 18 years old are admitted for free. Tickets may be purchased at the Waxahachie Symphony Association Windsync performance registration page.
