Why you might want to adopt a cat or dog in Waxahachie this month

| | ,

All this month, dog and cat adoptions in Waxahachie will be easier on your wallet than ever.

As part of the national Clear the Shelters campaign organized by NBC Universal in an effort to bring attention to the millions of dogs and cats waiting for homes in animal shelters all across the country, Waxahachie Animal Services is rescinding its usual adoption and microchipping fees from August 1-31, 2023, making adoptions free for the whole month.

Also participating in the campaign, the S.P.C.A. of Texas Ellis County Animal Care Center will lower its fee to $25 for most of the month and offer totally free adoptions on August 25-27, 2023. Additionally, animals adopted through the Ellis Care Center come with applicable vaccinations, spaying and neutering and microchipping.

For those wanting to add joy to their lives by taking in a new feline or canine companion, the two shelters are hosting adoption events at various public venues throughout the month.

The Clear the Shelters campaign is in its ninth year and has helped to place hundreds of thousands of cats and dogs in permanent homes throughout the U.S. To see who’s available for adoption, you may visit the S.P.C.A. of Texas adoption page or the Waxahachie Animal Services PetFinder page.
