Waxahachie residents are invited to pick up a free tree in celebration of Texas Arbor Day, November 1, 2025 at the Waxahachie Farmers Market, 701 Howard Road in Waxahachie from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Those with proof of Waxahachie residency may choose from Red Oak, Live Oak, Cedar Elm, Mexican Plum, Pecan, and Fruiting Peach, while supplies last. Each family is limited to one tree. There will only be 100 trees, so the early bird will catch a tree in this instance.

About Texas Arbor Day
Although National Arbor Day is in the spring, Texas Arbor Day is recognized on the first Friday in November in the state because the climate in autumn is better suited for bare root trees to become established during the fall, winter and spring before the heat of summer causes greater stress on young saplings.
